Turn! Jump! Leap!
Your little boy or girl will be lead through exciting movements across the dance floor, given the opportunity to jump and bounce in ways that will explore the basics of technical dance for future classes.
Monday/Wednesday at 11am
This is class is ideal for both boys and girls to put their sneakers on, and get down to the age-appropriate grooves! We will be learning the idea of warming up and stretching out for class in creative ways, discovering shape, form, and finding the beat to high-energy popular (kid-friendly) music. No gangster rap, we promise.
Just the name says it all. This is a magical half-hour of twirling, jumping, posing, and dancing while still teaching the basics of dance movement and class etiquette. Students may bring their own tutus, or you can borrow one of ours, but we only have a backup stash in case you forget yours. We recommend The Leotard, on MLK, if you want the real deal (they run about $15) or a regular box store for a costume kind. Tutus are everywhere. If your swirling, twirling darling insists on her magical accoutrement, such as wands and tiaras, our super sweet teachers will have a special “magic re-charging” basket for those accessories to hang out in during class, to be picked up after class. They may even get a special "wand moment" at the end of class!
This class will get your little b-boy or b-girl really using the floor and starting to learn basics of acrobatics. So much of break dance is floor work and tricks, so we will give them a few basics ones to work on! This class will also work on flexibility and getting them properly bendy.
